OVERVIEW
The Waterline 53 offers the safety and security of a fully enclosed pilothouse that can be opened to the cockpit. The aft 1/2″ lexan windows recess electrically into self-draining pockets at the flick of a switch. The side and forward windows are a glass/lexan/glass sandwich for ultimate strength. The boat can be sailed easily by a couple, and can be maneuvered from the inside by the autopilot. The cockpit is deep and very secure with a huge aft lazarette below a curved helm seat. Bow thruster, anchor windlass, remote VHF radio and the Leisurefurl main halyard and reefing controls are all mounted within easy reach on the Whitlock steering pedestal. Six Lewmar self-tailing winches help to provide easy sail handling and control in all conditions.
INTERIOR DESIGN
The interior of the Waterline 53 offers a tasteful blend of function and luxury. The galley is fitted with solid surface counter tops totally enclosed by a sculpted fiddle that doubles as a handhold. The light colored maple interior and rich mahogany cabin sole is augmented by the gloss Awlgrip finish on the overhead panels. Careful consideration was given to provide ample amounts of storage and easy access to any equipment or machinery in the area under the cockpit and pilothouse. The aft guest cabin with a double berth and the owner’s stateroom forward with separate head provide ample private accommodations. The salon with an oval shaped settee is great for comfortable lounging or entertaining. The port side functions well as a sea berth on passages.
